Not Just for Kids Anymore!

Sweet and Salty or Spicy and Sweet … there are many flavor combinations that we can’t wait to try and sometimes can’t get enough of them once we do! Take the Hot Honey craze… you can find Hot Honey on everything from pizza to desserts.

All rules are off in the adventures of our palates!

It seems the more unusual or unexpected the pairings, the more we love them!

Previously, we explored the Dubai Chocolate craze that paired the crunch of Kadayif with the earthy/nutty flavor of pistachio and the richness of chocolate. Now this flavor combination is everywhere, too!

So how do you feel about fried chicken nuggets and caviar? Just about everyone loves chicken nuggets, and they are not just for kids anymore!

The combination first became famous by the Korean restaurant, COQODAQ – a Korean Fried Chicken restaurant in the Flatiron district of NYC famous for creating elevated Fried Chicken experiences and pairing them with Champagne. The acidity and bubbles from the Champagne pair well with the fat and oil from the friend chicken making it an enjoyable juxtaposition of culture and flavor experience. This mashup first hit the mainstream at the U.S. Open in 2025, where COQODAQ served a $100 Nugget and caviar box that instantly went viral.

You can read about it here. Be sure to read past the first reviewer who was not a fan, as the rest is history! But to quote Lisa Zizzo, You’d be better getting McDonald’s.”

Be careful of what you ask for as McDonald’s answered the call.

In February in 2026, McDonald’s did just that! They offered a limited edition McNugget Caviar Kit for Valentine’s Day! What was the price? Free!

Boxes with McNugget caviar-themed labels, containers of caviar, nuggets on a plate, a yellow brochure, and a black bag. Tablecloth with floral pattern.

It was an online promotion that included a tin of Baerii sturgeon caviar, crème fraîche, a Mother of Pearl spoon, and a $25 Arch Card to buy your own nuggets. What could be better than that?

And in the words of McDonalds,What makes this pairing so iconic? The crispy, golden goodness of our signature McNuggets and the salty, savory, black pearls of Paramount’s Baerii Sturgeon caviar make for a true match made in heaven for the special occasions in life.”

We were not lucky enough to score the free Valentine’s Day kit, and we did not attend the US Open, but we were intrigued. So at our annual employee meeting, we worked with our friend and fellow event planner Chris Frazza and Sal Latoracca, at Water’s Edge at Giovanni’s in Darien to give the phenomenon a try! The response was positive! Everyone was curious to try it and no one complained!

It was a hit! If for nothing else but the novelty/absurdity of it!

We encourage you to try it on your own. Caviar is readily available at many grocery stores. We sourced ours from Wegman’s in Harrison, but I am sure you could find it at Whole Foods, too. When you run out of Nuggets, caviar is great on wavy or waffle potato chips with sour cream if you can’t find crème fraiche.

We would love to know what you think about this juxtaposition of food culture.

Are you feeling adventurous?

We would be happy to include this new fun flavor sensation for you at your next event! It can be served at a BBQ or a Wedding! This trend is fun, ridiculous, a little glamorous, maybe even Shabby Chic, but definitely unserious which is exactly what food culture needs right now. Whether you’re a nugget fan or a caviar connoisseur, this is a flavor moment and experience worth celebrating.

Give us a call or drop us an email!

We can’t wait to hear about your caviar nugget adventures and look forward to planning an epicurean adventure with you soon!
