Wedding season follows Proposal season, and the most popular months to hold Weddings are June, September and October. (Wedding Wire) With the availability of the COVID-19 Vaccine, we are all optimistic that things will get better and social gathering restrictions will improve. However, last year, our restrictions did not ease until the end of June. During the Summer and Fall months, we were able to enjoy outdoor events for up to 50 guests. This introduced us to the Mini-Mony and Micro- Wedding. According to The New Yorker, micro-weddings are defined as weddings consisting of typically 50 guests or less and generally resemble a traditional wedding, with a smaller reception. A Mini-mony is a smaller ceremony, with generally less than 10 people. These are more intimate events for the couple, close friends and family. Elopements were also popular in 2020. “When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.” When Harry Met Sally
Planning a Mini-mony or Micro-wedding can be just as magical as a full sized wedding. No one knows what our gathering limits will be for this summer and fall, but the joy of the love shared by two people and the joining of two families cannot be restrained. These smaller options are a good place to start if you want to get married now and not wait. You can always scale up should our situation improve. Why not consider planning an intimate gathering now and indulge your closest friends and family, and honor your first date of choice, and consider hosting a larger celebration as an anniversary or vow renewal at some point in the future when everyone is more comfortable gathering. A choice like this may remove any angst or uncertainty that you may experience and you can get on with your happily ever after.
Do you know any couples that might benefit from some guidance, assistance or support? Events by Marylee is happy to have planned and executed a number of Mini-monies in 2020. We can help you navigate the COVID-19 event guidelines, recommend and provide safe food service, and prepare for any unexpected disruptions by considering a location that allows for expansion or flexibility should our situation change. Love is resilient, your wedding should be, too.
Wishing you Love and Happiness in 2021!
Cheers!
