Dietary Restrictions and Twists on Traditional Holiday Fare

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! Mine was FULL!! Thank you to all of you that shared your holiday with Events by Marylee, it was our pleasure to work with each of you.

We are all familiar with how common dietary restrictions, allergies and personal food choices there are today. Thanksgiving can be a challenging holiday to work around, given the traditional fare of Turkey, stuffing, and assorted carbs and starches. Gluten free and vegetarian stuffing and gravy can be found without too much trouble, but now add to this the ban on romaine lettuce and things can get challenging! Chefs and hosts need to be able to adapt to last minute requests and restrictions.

My favorite take away from this year was the addition of salmon as the main course for many households instead of Turkey. I even heard again today of a hostess that offered both salmon and chicken at a holiday get together and all the salmon was eaten and very little of the chicken! So for you those of you that find creating a holiday menu challenging because of the dietary restrictions of your family and guests, take heart as it can be done! You just need to think creatively and somewhat strategically. The chefs and culinary team at Events by Marylee are open to coming up with alternatives to the traditional foods to suit your tastes and dietary needs. We enjoy working on your menu selections and welcome your ideas.

Let the Festivities Begin!
