Murphy's Law or April Fools?

Murphy’s Law? April Fools? Maybe even Mercury in Retrograde? Which is it? Have you ever felt like you are driving on square tires? Or when you ask a simple question people look at you as if you have two heads or are speaking a strange language they don’t understand? That is how much of this winter season has been like. When March came I was reminded of the Irish Blessing, “May the Road Rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. ….” But instead of feeling the rest of this beautiful blessing, I felt as if the road opened up a pot hole in front of me at every step; the wind was always in my face and we all know there was very little sunshine! So I laughed. But the good news is, despite all the obstacles, just like the arrival of Spring or the flower under the snow, we all manage to persevere.

I share this story with you to announce the launch of the social media presence of Events by Marylee! This has been a long time coming! And the irony of it is, on the day I sat down with my Social Media consultant, we almost were not able to get it done. We thought there was a problem with the Wifi in Starbucks. We thought there was something wrong with our phones. We shut down and restarted. We removed the Apps, and reinstalled them. But nothing we tried worked. But then I thought, “Ah, Google knows all!” So I googled, “Can’t log into Instagram” And the Google search responded with the news article of the day that Facebook and Instagram were down! A Social Media Blackout on the day I decided to dive in! I had to laugh. I could not believe it. Murphy’s Law. It was still March, so it could not be April Fool’s yet!

I have even heard a few client stories recently that resonated with the same incredible obstacles. One client was biting her nails, waiting for the painters to finish painting her dining room on Monday before Thanksgiving. Another recently shared that she is waiting for a contractor to fix her kitchen ceiling before a big family event! For myself, I had a fire in an old dishwasher Christmas week and the new dishwasher was installed on Christmas Eve! So my message to you all is don’t worry, somehow these things have a way of working themselves out.

Despite this attempt to impede my forward intentions, we prevailed! My presence is in the infant stages but you can now follow us on both Instagram and Facebook.

It is always our pleasure to assist you, we are happy to be there for you, even when the road seems to be blocked.  “May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand” (Traditional Gaelic Blessing)
