While writing the previous newsletter suggesting this is the perfect time of the year to host small, intimate events in your home, I met Chaundra who wanted to do a Fondue Party to celebrate her birthday with a few close friends; so I included the Fondue idea in the newsletter. I am writing to you today to tell you it was a success! A fun collaboration between Events by Marylee, and Chaundra; a real Labor of Love.
Fondue Menu
Classic Swiss Cheese Fondue with Bread, Pretzels, Sausage Apples and Vegetable assortment
Arugula Salad with Watermelon and Feta
Beef, Chicken and Shrimp Fondue with a selection of hot oil, red or white wine broth for cooking
Chocolate Fondue Fountain for dessert with Pineapple, Strawberries, Bananas and Marshmallows
Donut Birthday Cake
Beginning with a signature cocktail, Lavender Paloma, the guests enjoyed the cheese Fondue served as the appetizers. The salad course allowed time to change over pots to the dinner course, and who doesn’t love a chocolate fountain! Special shout out to Donut Crazy in Westport for duplicating the Donut Cake from Chaundra’s childhood parties!

One call to Marylee and she was on board and loved the idea. She was responsive and purposeful in her planning, including meeting in person with Chef Scott to discuss the menu, assess the layout for the party and even securing the fondue pots! The party featured several courses of cheese fondue, a plated salad, red and white wine herb broths and the traditional hot oil. The final course was a chocolate fondue and a donut cake as a throwback to the 80’s.
